You can't help others until you help yourself

Much like they tell you on an airplane about putting the oxygen mask on yourself first so you are able to help others...the same can be said for your task list. 

I have recently stopped checking email first thing in the morning. Instead, I start on the major tasks of my day. It has been freeing...scary, but freeing. I feel exponentially more accomplished by lunch than I have in a long time. 

I have decided to look at it like this...Email is everyone else's To Do list. I need to take care of my list before I'm able to help others.
